Is it ok for a teacher to turn your phone on and read your texts?

Today, i was sitting in school, after dismissal and prayers, and i got a really random text, so i opened my phone and closed it. I sit with my hands in my lap and my phone was in my lap., so my teacher comes over and she was standing across the table from me and she said, "show me your hands." So I put my hands up and she told me to stand up, so she saw my phone(its not like i hid it, i held it in my hand, above the table) and she told me to give it too her, so i turned it off and she took it, then another teacher walked over, and the first teacher turned around so i couldn't see anything and they turned my phone on and read my texts. then she went and told my math and homeroom teacher, and as my math teacher was ping by, she hit me with herkey chainin and told me to wait to text my bf. Can someone tell me if what they did is ok?
