Looking to buy a new home or condo. What should I know, or be weary of?

You can always ask for seller concessions. They can counter if they don't want to pay them. I would be leary of a condo in a bad neighborhood, good deal or not. $50,000 off the starting price should be a clue. Resale could be an issue. Gated community? Better look at that condo fee. Also, ask to see the budget of the ociation. An essment could be put in place at any time & you would have to come up with the cash or pay it over a few months. Just think, if they decide the whole complex needs a new roof...$$$$$$
