My 8 week old won't fall asleep or stay asleep on his own?

during the night i give him a bottle so he usually goes down to sleep after one or two tries. During the day, however, when i nurse he barely sleeps unless he's on me. He eithe falls asleep while nursing or i hold him in a certain position with the pacifier and i try to wait until he's in a deep sleep to put him down. He will usually wake up after a couple minutes- and when he doesnt I have no clue what i did right that time. Ive tried everything- music, swaddle, boppy, ... he just wants to sleep on me. I need to do things around the house and I want him to get sufficient rest duing the day. Is there any good ideas/techniques to get him to either fall asleep on his own or go bak to sleep once i put him down (and I believe he is waaaaay too young for crying it out i never let him cry for more than a couple minutes)
