Why is there so much animosity in this area?

People come to this section of the forum and make fun of those who believe. Why??? I don't get it. If some one was mocking someone because of their skin color or ethnitiy there would be people yelling and screaming the house down. Why is making fun of religion ok??? IT should go against every thing most of you guys say that you belive in fairness and against prejudice. I'm begining to wonder if you're afraid that the people who believe are right and something might happen to you when you die and that you won't be prepared as well as you could have been??? IF you truly believe in fairness and letting people have their own beliefs than you're not only doing a disservice to those who do believe but to your self and your own core beliefs of being a caring person.. Is the idea of releigion so hard for you to deal with that you would compromise who you say you are and what you're about??
